Do you want to go to a dress-up or Halloween party with your partner in a couples costume? What better way to play off and complement each other! Well here are a couple of ideas for couples to get that double impact!

Queen Bee and Drone

Here is a sure-fire way to create a buzz at your next party! These costumes can be put together at home quite simply. The Queen Bee of course in real life has thousands of willing drones doing all the work but for this fantasy party will only have one – her partner.

To make the costumes both people need to wear black tops with tights or trousers. You will then need some yellow electrical tape so that you can put strips of it in horizontal lines right around the upper parts of both of your bodies. For the Queen Bee’s skirt, you will need something like some black deer netting to wrap around her waist. You may require several layers to get a full effect. A crown can simply be made out of silver or gold-colored card.

The drone is a little easier to make a costume for. Since he is the worker, what better tihng to have around his waist but a tool-belt! You can simply make some antennae out of black pipe cleaner or something similar.

Mr and Mrs Frankenstein

Have you ever made costume out of duct tape? Well this became very popular and lots of people made all sorts of clothes and things out of duct tape. The only limitation is your imagination.

To make the long pale dress for Mrs Frankenstein you will need to begin with a long strip of tape which runs from your shoulder to your ankle and lay it on the floor sticky side up. Cut another piece of duct tape the same length and stick it to the first piece so that there is no exposed adhesive.

Now cut a third piece the same length and overlap it by a third to the first two pieces. Cut a fourth piece and do the same thing with it. Once you have a big enough sheet you then need to do the same process on the back. In this way you can make the material for the dress and sleeves.

For Mr Frankenstein you can make a jacket in the same way using silver duct tape. You will thus be transformed into a very smart and sinister couple.
