Evolution Of Dance Party

Deciding on which party games to play is dependant on a number of factors:

- whether boys are attending

- how big the group is

- whether there is a theme

- what the attendees want to do

When deciding whether boys can come, you might want to bear in mind that girls are sometimes withdrawn when boys are around.

In addition, because girls typically mature quicker than boys, girls may prefer games which are more restrained and less physically gruelling! Naturally, this depends on which girls are coming, because many of them may prefer activity games to sitting quietly, and whether the main girl wants boys to be invited!

A good idea would be to ask the birthday girl, if it’s a birthday party, what types of party games for girls she would like to be seen played and whether any of her friends have any ideas about what games they would like to play. That will certainly give you some inspiration.

1.) Theme

It can be a costume theme like Hawaiian, retro, or fairytale. You may also do a period theme like a Renaissance theme or a 70s theme. Religious themes are also good, such as the Nativity Scene. Another possibility is a cultural theme, e.g., Japanese. The range of your theme choices is as wide as your imagination could get.

Themes are, of course, optional. You can just go with a color dress code or a color combo such as pink, red, and white, for a Valentines party.

Where there is a theme to the party, it will have an effect on what games can be enjoyed. There may be additional games that spring to mind for a particular theme, e.g. ‘the hidden teddy bear’ for a teddy bear picnic theme or ‘find the madhatter’ for a tea party theme. However, regardless of the theme, it’s a good plan to involve the girls in making the decisions for what games they want to be played and then getting them to work out how the rules of the game can be changed to suit the theme of the party.

3.) Venue

If you want the party to be close and personal, hold it at your home. The average home could accommodate about a maximum of a hundred guests. If you would indeed have it in your home, remember that you need to clean it first. If you have more than a hundred guests, or you do not like the idea of having to clean up the house, you could just rent a hall. You can check the available event facilities in your area via the internet.

4.) Guests

Who will be there? Will your family and relatives be the only guests or will you invite many other friends as well? What about neighbors? Is it a “for adults only” party or do you wish to have a kid-friendly crowd as your guests?

Remember that in holiday party planning, you have to organize everything ahead of time because there would surely be a lot of events going on. Make sure to get your guest list done and the invitations sent. Good planning would certainly ensure the perfect holiday party
